Dr. Stéfan Pheiffer is a registered dental practitioner with a special interest in endodontics. Endodontics/root canal treatment is done to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected or when an injury or a large cavity damages the tooth’s nerve. During a root canal procedure, the nerve is removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and an abscess may form.
